Abstract

Fanaticism behavior has recently been rife for kpop fans in Indonesia, especially in the pekanbaru city area. Kpop fans usually interact on social media or through direct interaction. Not infrequently kpop fans find a discrepancy between something they believe about their idol and information on social media or in person, this makes kpop fans show verbal aggression behavior, kpop fans tend to respond to these things with harsh words. This study entitled "the relationship between fanaticism and verbal aggression of kpop fans in Pekanbaru City" the purpose of this study was to see if there was a relationship between fanaticism and the verbal aggression of kpop fans in Pekanbaru City. This research used quantitative research methods with 204 participants who were kpp fans who were in pekanbaru city. This study used quantitative research methods with 204 participants who were kpp fans in the city of Pekanbaru. The measuring instruments used in this study were the fanaticism scale and the aggression scale. The results of this study obtained an insignificant value of 0.141, so that the sig > 0.05 so that the conclusion can be drawn that there is no significant relationship between the variable of fanaticism and the variable of verbal aggression.
