Abstract

The aim of the study was to determine the effect of interaction and the main factors of solid and ash from palm oil bunches on the growth and production of shallots. This research has been carried out in the garden of UPT Teropong jl. Kubang Jaya, Siak Hulu sub-district, Kampar district. The study was carried out from March 2022 to June 2022. The design used in this study was a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of two factors. The first factor is solid compost (Factor H) consisting of 4 treatment levels, namely 0; 180; 360; and 540 g/polybag and the second factor is oil palm ash (Factor U) consisting of 4 treatment levels, namely 0; 0.25; 0.5; and 0.75 kg/polybag so that there were 16 treatment combinations with 3 replications, so there were 48 experimental units. Parameters observed were soil pH measurement, plant height, harvest age, number of tillers in the clump, wet tuber weight per plant, dry tuber weight per plant, number of tubers per clump and tuber weight loss. Observational data were analyzed statistically and continued with further BNJ test at 5% level. Based on the results of the research that has been carried out, it can be concluded as follows: the interaction of giving the interaction of Solid and palm ash palm ash gave a significant effect on the measurement of soil pH, plant height, harvest age, number of tillers in the cluster, wet tuber weight per plant, dry tuber weight per plant, number of tubers per clump and tuber weight loss where the best treatment was solid compound 540 g/polybag and oil palm ash 0.75 kg/polybag. The main effect of solid compost is significant on all observation parameters. The best treatment is solid compost 540 g/polybag. The main effect of oil palm ash was significant on all observation parameters. The best treatment of palm ash ash is 0.75 kg/polybag.
