Abstract

The aim of the study was to determine the effect of the interaction of chicken egg shells and cow blood on the growth and production of chilies. This research was carried out at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Islamic University of Riau, Jalan Kaharuddin Nasution KM 11 No. 113 Stop Marpoyan Air Cold Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru. This research was conducted for 5 months, June – October 2021. The design used in the study was a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of two factors. The first factor was chicken eggshell (L) which consisted of 4 levels, namely: 0, 250, 500 and 750 g/plant. The second factor was cow's blood (N) which consisted of 4 levels: 0, 7.5, 15 and 22.5%. From these two treatments, 16 treatment combinations were obtained, each treatment combination was repeated 3 times so that there were 48 experimental units, each experimental unit consisted of 6 plants and became the sample. The number of plants as many as 288 plants. Parameters observed were: relative growth rate, plant height, flowering age, harvesting age, number of fruit per plant, fruit weight per plant, number of remaining fruit and harvest index. Observational data were analyzed statistically. If the calculated F is greater than the F table, then it is continued with a further test of honest significant differences (BNJ) at the 5% level. The interaction between chicken eggshell and cow blood treatment was significant on plant height, flowering age, harvesting age, number of fruits per plant, fruit weight per plant. The best treatment dose of chicken egg shells is 750 g/plant and 22.5% cow blood. The main effect of real chicken egg shells on all observation parameters. The best treatment dose of chicken egg shells is 750 g/plant. The main effect of bovine blood is real on all observation parameters, where the best treatment is the concentration of 22.5% bovine blood.
