Abstract

This research has been carried out in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Pekanbaru, for 4 months starting from June 2019 to September 2019. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of interactions and the main source of cuttings and the immersion time of Rootone-F on the growth of yellow xanthostemon cuttings ( Xanthostemon chrysanthus F. muell.). The design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) factorial consisting of two factors, with 4 replications. The first factor is the source of cuttings consisting of 3 levels, namely shoots, twigs and stems. The second factor is Rootone-F soaking time which consists of 4 levels, namely 0, 30, 60, 90 minutes. The parameters observed were percentage of cuttings (%), age of shoots (days), number of shoots (fruits), number of leaves (strands), longest shoots (cm), number of roots (fruits) and root volume (ml). Data were analyzed statistically and continued at BNJ level of 5%. The results showed that the interaction of root material cuttings and soaking time Rootone-F affected the parameters of the number of shoots, root length, number of roots, and root volume. The main effect of the material source of cuttings was real on several parameters observed, namely percentage of growth, age of shoots, number of leaves and longest shoots. The best treatment is the source of stem cuttings. The main effect of the real immersion time on several parameters observed were percentage of growth, age of shoots, number of leaves and longest shoots. The best long immersion treatment for Rootone-F is 60 minutes. Where the best treatment lies in the combination of source treatment of stem cuttings and soaking time of 60 minutes.
