Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of children as victims of criminal acts of sexual abuse in the city of Pekanbaru and how efforts to prevent and deal with crime of sexual abuse in the city of Pekanbaru This research was conducted in Kora Pekanbaru, specifically in Pekanbaru Police. Data collection techniques used were field research and interviews, the data collected was then processed and analyzed qualitatively and then presented descriptively. The results obtained from this study are (1) Children as victims of sexual abuse in Pekanbaru City have an active role in encouraging themselves to become victims by causing stimuli so that crimes against themselves occur and some are playing a passive role but do not act but with their attitude encourage themselves to become victims so that crimes against him that have the nature and character tend to be weak physically and power of thought, so that in this case the child as a victim of crime in the city of Pekanbaru based on the type of victim and then categorized as latent victims. As for the triggering factors of a child being a victim of sexual abuse related to his role is influenced by personality, belief / faith, the relationship between the victim and the perpetrator, education, moral crisis in society, technology and mass media, attention and supervision of parents / family, community attention / environment. (2) Safeguards provided include efforts to provide rehabilitation to children who are victims of criminal acts of sexual abuse and also the provision of protection for broadcasting identity through print or electronic media that aims to prevent labeling of children who are concerned may affect the future. children who are victims of criminal acts of sexual abuse.
