Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of the "Sekapur Sirih" studio as a forum for developing interest in dance in extracurricular activities at SMA Negeri 4 Pekanbaru. This research is a descriptive qualitative research where the research results are in the form of a real description of the research object. The object of this research is the members of the Sekapur Sirih studio who are still active in it. The data collection method used observation techniques, interview techniques and also documentation techniques in order to obtain more accurate data. The results showed that the Sekapur Sirih studio played an important role in developing the potential of students without disturbing the students' academic process. In its implementation, there are various processes that include the recruitment of new members, training patterns and also publications on the achievements of the Sekapur Sirih studio. Where a series of activities were carried out by Frihatmi, S.Sn as a trainer at the Sekapur Sirih studio who was responsible for carrying out all the processes in it.
