Abstract

Homosexuality is a term that refers to sexual or romantic interactions between persons of the same sex orientation. Homosexual is an adjective used for intimate relationships or sexual relations between people of the same sex, can be gay or lesbian. Whereas lesbian is a certain term used to refer to homosexual women. The phenomenon of lesbians, in psychological aspects can be said as a symptom of sexual abnormalities. Lesbians are scattered in various regions, including in Pekanbaru city, but they still close a lot from the surrounding community about their identity because they do deviant actions, these lesbians only show to their fellow men. The characteristics of lesbians who act as men are called or dubbed Butchy or in short (B), where they have the appearance of men. The research carried out is intended to find out the phenomenology of lesbian communication in Pekanbaru city. In this study the authors used a descriptive method. Through a qualitative approach the aim of the research is essentially relying on efforts to observe, collect, analyze, interpret data about the phenomenology of lesbian communication in Pekanbaru city. The data collection techniques used are through observation, interviews and documentation. The results obtained from the data collected are communication phenomena that have a positive point of view for themselves but tend to be negative in the eyes of others, close themselves off from others and try to behave normally just don't want to be conflicted. Lesbians tend to limit communication with other people (verbally) because they think other people have looked strange from the appearance (non-verbal communication) that is not appropriate for normal women. Other people's views on lesbians are bad, strange and wrong. So lesbians are more introverted.
