Abstract

Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) is a method of obtaining petroleum in the tertiary recovery stage, after the process of primary and secondary recovery could not produce oil into optimal amount, EOR is needed to be done. Advanced production methods is used to increase oil recovery, also known as the EOR method which can be divided into 4 main categories; chemical flooding that using injection of polymer flooding, and then there is gas injection (miscible or immiscible gas injection) such as CO2 injection or inert gas, also there is thermal method such as steam stimulation or also known as huff and puff, steam flood, and in situ combustion, and the last one is Microbial Enhanced Oil Recovery (MEOR) that used microbial activities. This study, Fractional factorial design was used as a design of experiment. FFD is very useful in factor screening test (factor screening) that is able to identify experimental factors that have a large influence. In the thermal method, cyclic steam stimulation or also known as huff and puff method is a method that is working by injecting steam regularly using one well that functions as an injection well and at the same time as a production well. This method is considered effective for increasing oil recovery by reducing oil viscosity and this method is widely applied to heavy oil reservoirs. There are many things that must be considered in this CSS method, such as the duration in the soaking stage, the number of cycles needed, steam injection pressure, steam injection rate, steam injection volume, steam dryness or steam quality, and steam injection temperature. By these parameters, the value of recovery factor will be obtained which can determine the effectiveness of the CSS method. The result shows that the most dominant parameter that can increase oil recovery factor at steam injection is the volume of steam injection with a negative coefficient of -1,81. The second dominant parameter is steam injection rate and the coefficient also has a positive value of 1,68. And the third dominant parameters is number of cycle and the coefficient also has a negative value of -1,45. Whereas for soaking time, steam injection temperature, and steam dryness did not have a significant effect in this study.
