Abstract

Planning of the Public Works Agency and the Spatial Planning of the City of Pekanbaru in overcoming flooding, especially the problem of drainage. Handling the problem of drainage systems (especially rubbish that is in drainage) is not only the responsibility of the government. Entrepreneurs and the general public as waste producers also have the responsibility in handling waste problems. However, based on the results of the authors' observations that flood control is carried out by the agency such as cleaning raindrops that are interrupted, blocked, captured and so on. In addition, there are still many buildings that do not have drainage in accordance with established rules. Whereas the requirement to build a building, one of which is to have an architectural design drawing (consisting of pictures of the situation, floor plans, looks, pieces, infiltration wells) is planned by an architect who has an IPTB, given a GSB, GSJ and land boundary notation. The purpose of this research is to find out and explain Drainage Management by the Department of Public Works and Spatial Planning in the Field of Water Resources in Dealing with Floods in Pekanbaru City and to determine the supporting and inhibiting factors of Drainage Management by the Department of Public Works and Spatial Planning in the Field of Water Resources Handling Floods in Pekanbaru City. This research was conducted using quantitative methods. With the type of research used in this research is descriptive type. The results showed that the Management of Drainage by the Department of Public Works and Spatial Planning in the Field of Water Resources in Handling Floods in Pekanbaru City that the Management of Drainage by the Department of Public Works and Spatial Planning in the Field of Water Resources in Handling Floods in Pekanbaru City can be said to be quite good. However, there are still drainages that do not function as a whole, especially in low and sunken areas. To cope with the rainwater puddles required planning an environmentally sound drainage system. Environmentally sound drainage is infrastructure that functions to drain surface water into water bodies, where the construction is integrated with the General Spatial Plan. Obstacles in Drainage Management by the Department of Public Works and Spatial Planning in the Field of Water Resources in Handling Floods in Pekanbaru City are inadequate financial resources, the number of illegal buildings and the lack of community involvement.
