Abstract

The problem of this research is that in the performance of the Siak Palace performed by the Istana Cahaya Studio, the change in the number of personnel, both in terms of the number of musicians and dance members in almost every performance. This indicates a discrepancy between the planning of tasks and work that has been planned in the management of the studio. The purpose of this study was to determine the management of the Cahaya Istana studio in Siak District, Siak Regency. Management is a process or framework, which involves guiding or directing a group of people toward organizational goals or tangible goals. Organizational management which includes planning, organizing, mobilizing and supervising using Terry's (2000) theory. This study uses a qualitative method. Data was collected using interview, observation and documentation studies. The conclusion in this study was that at the planning stage at the Istana Cahaya Studio, it was known that the studio had a weekly, monthly and annual work program, for example performance schedules at the Siak Palace, routine training, property and musical instruments, participating in events and financial planning by making proposals. . The organizing stage is carried out with the regeneration of the management and costume maintenance, as well as the formation of a studio organizational structure that functions to clarify the existence and responsibilities of each board. The implementation stage at the Cahaya Istana studio has not gone well, because it does not yet have a specific strategy in dealing with the mismatch in the number of personnel planned to perform. The supervision carried out by the Cahaya Palace studio is quite good with direct supervision from the daily chairman on the teaching and evaluation process, but does not yet have controls such as sanctions for disciplinary violations.
