Abstract

This study is motivated by the lack of religious behaviors among students at SMPN 1 Bangko Pusako. The signs that can be identified such as there are some students who still miss the prayers, there are some students who cannot recite the Qur'an, there are some students who litter, there are some students who say bad words or rude, and there are some students who cheat during the exam. This study aims to investigate the influence of Islamic Studies learning on students’ religious behaviors in grade VII at SMPN 1 Bangko Pusako in Rokan Hilir, Riau province. The population of the study is all students in grade VII at SMPN 1 Bangko Pusako with a total of 134 students, while the sample taken is 100 students. The data collection techniques of the study are questionnaires and documentation. This study consists of two variables, namely variable X (Islamic Studies learning) and variable Y (students’ religious Behaviors). The results of the study show that there is an influence of Islamic Studies learning on students’ religious behaviors at SMPN 1 Bangko Pusako. It is found that a significance value is less than 0.05, or 0.00 < 0.05. The magnitude of the influence of Islamic Studies learning on students’ religious behaviors is 59.5%, which is categorized as a fairly strong influence because it is in the range of 0.40 - 0.599. The value of the coefficient of determination (R-squared) shows that the students’ religious behaviors are influenced by 0.595% by the Islamic Studies learning, while the remaining 100% - 59.5% = 40.5% is influenced by other factors that are not examined in this study.
