Abstract

Hepan Hepantus Sianturi (174110089) Research title "Test of Biochar and Organic NPK on Growth and Production of Renek Long Beans (Vigna unguiculata var. sesquagpedalis)". The research has been carried out in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Islamic University of Riau, Jalan Kaharuddin Nasution, Air Cold Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City, Riau Province. Time This research was carried out from January to April 2021. The purpose of this study was to determine the main interactions and effects of giving Biochar and Organic NPK on the growth and production of long bean renek. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) in a factorial manner. The first factor is Biochar which consists of 4 levels of treatment, namely: 0; 0.7; 1.4; 2.1 kg per plot. The second factor is Organic NPK which consists of 4 levels of treatment, namely: 0; 4.9; 9.8; 14.7 grams per plant, consisting of 3 replications to obtain 48 experimental units. Parameters observed were plant height, flowering age, harvest age, number of pods per plant, pod length, pod weight per plant, number of remaining pods, and root volume. The data were statistically analyzed and continued with the honest significant difference test (BNJ) at the 5% level. The results showed that there was a significant interaction effect of giving Biochar and Organic NPK on pod weight per plant, pod length per plant and plant root volume. The best treatment was in the combination of Biochar with a dose of 2.1 kg/plot and Organic NPK 14.7 g per plant. The main effect of Biochar was significant on the number of pods per plant, pod length, pod weight per plant, number of remaining pods and root volume. The main effect of Organic NPK gave a significant effect on all parameters, the best treatment was giving Organic NPK 14.7 g/plant.
