Abstract

MIKE OKTARIA DANI “ANTIBACTERIAL ACTIVITY TEST OF KIPAHIT LEAF EXTRACT (Tithonia diversifolia) AGAINST Aeromonas salmonicida, Edwardsiella tarda AND Edwardsiella ictaluri” . Under the guidance of Dr. Jarod Setiaji, S.Pi, M.Sc. This research was conducted on 30 days at the Laboratory of Fish Seed Center (BBI) Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Pekanbaru. The Purpose of this study was to determine the antibacterial activity of Kipahit leaf extract against A. salmonicida, E. tarda and E.ictaluri bacteria and to determine the good concentration of Kipahit leaf extract to inhibit the growth of A. salmonicida, E. tarda and E.ictaluri bacteria. The materials used in this study were Kipahit leaf extract, 95% ethanol solvent, bacteria A salmonicida, E. tarda and E. ictaluri. The method used is an experimental method using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 2 replications, namely P1 concentration (10%), P2 concentration (20%), P3 concentration (30%), P4 concentration (40%) and P5 concentration. (50%). The results showed that the secondary metabolites contained in the leaf extract of Kipahit (T. diversifolia) based on phytochemical tests were alkaloids, phenolics, flavonoids and steroids/terpenoids. Kipahit leaf extract (T. diversifolia) was effective in inhibiting the growth of A. salmonicida, E. tarda and E. ictaluri bacteria, and the resulting inhibition zone was in the very strong category.
