Abstract

Relationship between Discipline Levels and Learning Outcomes in Class VIII Class of SMP Negeri 9 Pekanbaru The problem of the results of the observation was found that there were still lack of discipline in some students both in the learning process and in the implementation of school discipline. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the level of discipline towards the learning outcomes of education in the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 9 Pekanbaru. This type of research is a simple correlation. The population in this study were eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 9 Pekanbaru which consisted of 9 classes totaling 332 students, the sampling technique was a random sample taking 15% of all students and the number of samples was 50 people. The instruments of this study were questionnaires and student report cards. The results of calculations performed obtained a correlation index of 0.321. The r table value at df = 48 is 0.279 and therefore 0.321> 0.279. The value of t count = 2.39 while t table is 2.01 therefore 2.39. The percentage of the relationship between variable X and variable Y is 10.3%. The conclusion in this study is that there is a significant relationship between the level of discipline towards the learning outcomes of the students of the eighth grade of SMP Negeri 9 Pekanbaru with the influence of 10.3%.
