Abstract

ABSTRACT Dewi Utriani (194121011) research with the title "Effect of Water Grass (Hydrilla verticillata) and Chicken Egg Shell on Cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) Production in Ultisol Soil". This research has been carried out in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Jalan Kaharuddin Nasution KM 11 No. 113 Marpoyan Air Cold Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City. This research was carried out for 4 months, starting from March 2020 to May 2021. This study used a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of two factors. The first factor was Hydrilla verticillata treatment which consisted of 4 treatment levels, namely: without Hydrilla verticillata, Hydrilla verticillata green manure, Hydrilla verticillata bokashi and Hydrilla verticillata compost with a dose of 3.6 kg/plot The second factor was chicken egg shells which consisted of 4 treatment levels , namely : 0; 15; 30 and 45 g/plant. Each treatment consisted of 3 replications, so there were 48 experimental units. Parameters observed were net assimilation rate (LAB), relative growth rate (LPR), flowering age, percentage of pistil to fruit, harvest age, number of fruit per plant, fruit weight per plant and fruit weight per plot. The data were statistically analyzed and continued with the honest significant difference test (BNJ) at the 5% level. The results showed that: the interaction effect of the treatment of water grass (Hydrilla verticillata) and chicken egg shells gave a significant effect on all observation parameters with the best treatment found in the treatment of green manure Hydrilla verticillata 3.6 kg/plot and chicken egg shells 45 g /plant. The main effect of water grass (Hydrilla verticillata) treatment was significant on all observation parameters. The best treatment was found in the application of green manure treatment with Hydrilla verticillata 3.6 kg/plot. The main effect of giving chicken egg shells affects all observation parameters. The best treatment was given by giving chicken egg shells 45 g/plant.
