Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determined whether there is a relationship of metacognition awareness and how to learnwith students’ achievement of sciencebased on the academic ability at second year science students in junior high school Pekanbaru academic 2017/2018. The researcherwas conducted the data fromApriluntil May 2018. The study was a correlationaland data correlation using questionnaires, documentation and interviews. The sampel in this research it consisted 171 students with different level of academic ability. Analysis of the data in this study using correlation analysis Person Product Moment. The results show that (1) the average of all self-concept sub indicators is hight academic 62,94%, moderate academic 62,20 , low academic 46,30 (2) the average of all sub indicators of how to learn is 67,91% (3) student learning outcomes with a high category of a 26,31%, medium category 52,63%, and a low category of % 21,05. The results showed that for high academic,interest (X1), how learn (X2), with biology learning achievement (Y) there is a medium correlation (0,450). For medium academic, interest (X1) the how to learn (X2) with biology learning achievement (Y) there is alow relationship (0,314). For low academic, interest (X1) how to learn (X2) with biology learning achievement (Y) there is a medium relationship (0,418).For significant test scores it was found that at high academic, interest (X1), learning method (X2) with learning achievement(Y) tcount (3,30)> table (2.02). In moderate academic, interest (X1), learning method (X2) with learning achievement (Y) thitung (2,93)> table (1.98). At low academic, interest (X1), how to learn (X2) with learning achievement (Y) tcount (3,01)> table (2.01). Indicates there is a significant relationship between interest andhow to learn with students ’achievement of scienceat second yearjunior high school all sub-districts Tenayan Raya Pekanbaru academic 2017/2018.
