Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning process and improve the mathematics learning outcomes of class VIIb SMP Negeri 004 Logas Tanah Darat Academic Year 2018/2019 by applying the Contextual Teaching Learning approach. This research was conducted from September 21, 2018 to October 23, 2018. This research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which consists of two cycles. The instruments for collecting data from this study are observation sheets for student and teacher activities, and UH I and UH II test sheets. Data collection techniques in this study are (1) non-test techniques carried out to collect data on teacher and student activities carried out at each meeting, (2) the technique of mathematics learning outcomes tests carried out using a written test in the form of daily tests, after which will be analyzed with descriptive data analysis techniques. From the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that the results of the study show there is an increase in student learning outcomes. The percentage of the first cycle shows that the application of the CTL approach, students who achieved the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM) score of 76.92%. Meanwhile, in the second cycle, the percentage of students who achieved the KKM score increased to 96.15%. Based on these results, we can conclude that the application of the Contextual Teaching Learning (CTL) approach can improve the mathematics learning outcomes of class VIIb Negeri 4 Logas Tanah Darat students in the odd semester of the 2018/2019 academic year.
