Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning process and improve outcomes study mathematics in the subject matter of fractions in class VII of the Ar-Rummani Islamic Boarding School Tarai Get up Through approach Realistic Mathematic Education (RME). Form research This is research action class that composed from 2 cycle. Subject from research this is a class VII student of the Ar-Rummani Islamic Boarding School in Tarai Bangun, totaling 13 students consisting of 9 male students and 4 female students with abilities heterogeneous. The instrument of data collection used in this study is a sheet observations and daily math test questions. Data collection techniques in research this is done by observation and test techniques. Data analysis techniques are carried out with qualitative and quantitative data analysis. Based on qualitative data analysis guided on the observation sheet of teacher and student activities, it can be seen that there is improvement in each the meeting, but not the same as the analysis of quantitative data that can be seen that there was no increase in students' mathematics learning outcomes at a base score of 15.38% on the daily test I 61.54% and on the daily test II 0%. And the average score base 44.08 on the daily test I 73.58 and on the daily test II 29.67. From the results of the study above, it can be concluded that the application of the Realistic Mathematic Education approach (RME) cannot improve the mathematics learning outcomes of class VII Islamic boarding schools Ar-Rummani Tarai Build 2016/2017 Academic Year.
