Abstract

Material is an important component in determining the cost of a project. The use of material in the field often results in a large enough residual material so that efforts to minimize residual in the material will help increase contractor profits and reduce the impact on the environment. In the construction process, the use of materials by workers in the field can cause quite high residual material. It is necessary to identify the material that has the potential to cause residue and the percentage of losses caused by the occurrence of residual material. The purpose of this research is to identify the remaining material in the construction work of the 4th floor column structure which has a large cost, to determine the factors causing the residual material and to formulate an effort to reduce the residual in construction materials. This study uses a quantitative analysis method to calculate the quantity of material waste and an interview method using a questionnaire to the workers in the field to determine the factors causing the residual material. The secondary project data required are in the form of construction drawings to calculate material requirements, daily reports to calculate material purchases, and material unit prices to calculate the cost of remaining materials. To support the research results, direct research was conducted at the project site. Based on the results of the evaluation of the calculation of the remaining material in the UMRI 4-storey Lecture Building Construction Project, it is known that the construction material that has the largest cost is Iron D16 Rp 39.719.809 with a material residue of 1%, Rp 32.388.400 K-250 Concrete has a material remaining of 3%. , and Iron D10 18.264.010 has a residual material of 2,9%. There are 13 variables causing the remaining material, one of which is an error in ordering. Efforts are made to overcome material waste is to take careful measurements and supervision on every work done so that no material is wasted. Emphasize the supplier to pack the material properly so that the material sent is not damaged when it arrives at the location. Storing material in the warehouse so that the material is not scattered in the field so that material loss can be avoided.
