Abstract

This research is motivated by a phenomenon that occurs in journalists who work in the Riau media post several motives and the reason they choose to work in the Riau Pos media. This study aims to determine the experiences and motives of journalists working in the Riau Pos media. This study uses a descriptive case study type approach, audience research, namely qualitative research methods. Data is collected through interviews, books, references from libraries, journals, and the internet that discuss journalists. The subjects of this study were 2 senior journalists and 2 junior journalists, the results of the study namely the experience of journalists working in the Riau Pos media there are each experience, namely the experience of the first journalist, namely journalists as agents of change, the second is the experience of journalists in the matter of changing an event that what the journalist writes can change an event by means of the journalist's writing raised to the news. The third is that journalists are challenging work, and finally journalists are humanitarian work. The motives found in journalists working in the Riau Post media are there are 1 past motives (Because) and 4 future motives (In Order Motive). Thus the interviewees who worked in the Riau Pos media used the experience to be a process for them to reach the motives they had determined from the start. From that experience, journalists working in the Riau Pos media began to explore themselves and find solutions to the motives they had made from the beginning.
