Abstract

At this time the development of information technology is very rapid. The development of technology used by adolescents is not only limited to increasing knowledge and learning resources, but has influenced the process of forming adolescent identity. The process of forming adolescent self-identity takes place within the sphere of family and peers. Adolescent's strong desire to connect with peers requires a variety of suggestions, one of which is through social media networks. Social media has become a place for teenagers to express various thoughts and feelings they experience. This study aims to determine whether the intensity of accessing Islamic-based social media has an effect on juvenile delinquency. This study uses a quantitative approach. The research location was conducted in the Rantau Kopar village, Rantau Kopar district. The subjects of this study were adolescents aged 13 to 23 years. The data collection technique was collected through a questionnaire distributed to 204 respondents. The sampling technique in this study using accidental sampling method. The data collection technique used a scale of 15 items for the intensity scale of accessing Islamic-based social media and 30 items for the juvenile delinquency scale. Data analysis using inferential simplification statistics simple linear regression. The results are as follows: first, based on the intensity of accessing Islamic-based social media including the high category (27%), second, juvenile delinquency is in the high category (23.5%), third, there is a significant negative effect on the intensity of accessing Islamic-based social media. against juvenile delinquency.
